KATC-TV adopts "Acadiana" after an invoice typo

KATC-TV in Lafayette, launched in 1962 as Acadian Television Corp., received an FCC invoice around 1963 addressed to "Acadiana Television Corp." Station management adopted the misspelling as the name of its broadcast region, and it spread quickly.
