Amédé Ardoin and Dennis McGee make first recordings
Creole accordionist and singer Amédé Ardoin recorded six sides for Columbia in New Orleans on December 9, 1929, with fiddler Dennis McGee. The records, including Columbia 40514, are among the earliest commercial recordings of South Louisiana French music, and Ardoin is credited with laying groundwork later claimed as Cajun music.
